James Pratt, Co-Founder and Chairman

After graduating from the University of Western Ontario with an MBA in 1987, Jim became an investment banker at a national investment dealer in Toronto. In 1992, he invested in Sepp’s Gourmet Foods, a food co-packing company located in Vancouver. The company grew from $1 million in sales to $88 million, was listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange, and was #2 in its category in North America. He held various positions over the years at Sepp’s Gourmet Foods, including CFO and ultimately CEO. Prior to joining Mazza Innovation as President in August 2017, he was co-owner of Prosnack Natural Foods, co-packers and manufacturers of healthy snack foods. Jim is currently CEO of Rhema Health Products, a leading manufacturer of ingredients and flavouring for the health food industry. Jim has served as a Director of the Food Innovation Centre of BC, the Food Processors of Canada, Timia Capital, as Chairman of the Functional Foods Alberta Centre of Excellence and as current Chairman of the BC Food Processors Association.

Elizabeth Pratt, Co-Founder and CEO

Before completing her MBA at Queen’s University (MBA ’18), Elizabeth was an active member of her community. In all areas of her community activism, she worked to bring people together and support those in need of growth opportunities.  She Co-Founded Langley Youth for the Fallen, a community park honouring the 158 Canadian soldiers killed in Afghanistan, oversaw the turnaround of Telephone Aid Line Kingston and contributed hundreds of hours helping the homeless in Calgary. Having grown up around the Food & Beverage manufacturing industry, and a demonstrated history of brining communities together, Elizabeth is excited to put her experience to use, and play her part in growing the North American Food & Beverage manufacturing industry.

Michael Pratt, VP Sales and Marketing

Having Co-Founded Langley Youth for the Fallen alongside Elizabeth, it was only a matter of time before the pair joined forces on their next project, A recent Business school graduate, Michael’s professional experience is well beyond his years as he has sat on numerous boards including: Langley Township Council Committees, federal political boards, CUS Board of Directors at UBC Sauder School of Business, and [email protected] Student Network. His background in community planning, business development and strategic communication, as well as his lifelong exposure to the Food & Beverage manufacturing industry, fuel his passion for making the Food & Beverage industry in North America thrive!

Adam van den Hoven, CTO

Despite having a degree in applied physics from the University of Calgary, Adam has 20 years of software development experience. Not content to simply be a code monkey, he has put his hand to a wide range of skills ranging from user experience design and business analysis to system architecture and DevOps. He has developed systems for retail and e-commerce, banking and tele-health, entertainment and not-for-profits. Over his 20 years in software and web development career, Adam has leant his expertise to a number of companies including Boardwalk Equities, Frozen Mountain Software, Glacial Media, Natural Wellbeing Distribution, Capilano University, and founded his own web development and communications strategy firm, LittleFyr Communications.
